the "freeloader" pioneer sister who lives with us asked me this morning if she could "look" up something real quick on my laptop.
i was not prepared for this and quickly told her the system was down and i would let her use it later.
how do i get rid of all the recent sites box that you can scroll down to.
You could just say no.

and guaranteed not get caught.. would you?.
if it were possible that you could cheat on your mate, or significant other, and not get caught, would you do it?
i've often asked myself that, and asked my husband, too.
And guaranteed not get caught.. would you?
If it were possible that you could cheat on your mate, or significant other, and not get caught, would you do it? I've often asked myself that, and asked my husband, too. He always asks me if it's a trick question. I am not sure what he means by that, but I think he means if he answers a certain way, that he'll get in trouble. Hehehhe. No, it's not like that.
I asked him that yesterday, and after him giving me a bit of sarcasm, he answered in a way that I thought was very thought provoking. He said "If I cheat on you, I cheat myself." I asked what he meant by that. He said that he has set a personal standard of integrity for himself, and that if he violated that he would let me down, as well has God and himself. I thought that was a pretty good answer, so I just let it go. I have a pretty good man and consider myself lucky.
But, really, we all know how that goes. When marriages get bad, people are inclined to feel isolated, lonely, etc. and in need of physical human contact. I've often thought that personal integrity would be thrown out the window in face of those types of situations, but I don't know. What do you think?
For me: I just am not sure. I know I wouldn't sleep with someone else while still married, but I might be tempted to get emotionally involved with someone else while separated or something along those lines. What about you?

have you ever had the experience of looking in the mirror and seeing what appeared to be a stranger looking back at you?
i don't mean this metaphorically, nor do i mean that you look so disheveled that others wouldn't know you either.
i mean you look in the mirror and see what you always see, but today it seems as if you've never seen it before.. i get this every few months.
I don't look in the mirror. Ever since I have been formally "out" I can't look at myself in a mirror.

hi i'm new to this forum.
i've looked at other websites to and i see all this about the jw's, now i'm not one, i was raised a jw but made my own decision and my parents respected that.
i've read so many horror stories, but my life wasn't like that at all, as a matter of fact, when they first knocked on our door and my mother accepted a study our life changed for ever, it was for the best in many ways.
Your post is all very hunky-dory: don't judge people; accept it if they want to live and believe in it, etc. That's all well and good, and I agree totally if it were not taking people's lives. Before 1968 (I know this, I was there, and the literature backs me up) they did not agree with organ transplants. They did a complete turn-around sometime in the 80's and said that it was up to a person's conscience. There's another little sidebar here: organs contain blood, whole blood. They have NOT changed their stance on whole blood, so how can someone logically accept an organ transplant without violating the Bible on the blood stance? I don't get it.
The problem with your logic is that this cult has killed people indirectly, through requiring them to place their faith in an organization who says they are "spirit-directed" and yet, at the same time, claims there are no prophets, or prophecies, in this day and age. Truth is truth is truth. It remains the same, no matter what. Facts can't be changed, and the Witnesses are notorious for changing the facts, basing it on NEW LIGHT. So, what are they going to say to all the families that lost their mothers, brothers, fathers, and sisters.. all the children that lost their parents because of a doctrine they decided to change in the 80's? Woops, sorry! At least they'll come back in the resurrection!
That's not gonna fly. You can't sit on the fence in the face of death. You say "Well, I believe they are spirit directed, but they are imperfect, so it may change, and SORRY for those that lost their lives because of this doctrine, and their families, too. But if those families choose to be Jehovah's Witnesses, then they'll see them in the New World." That doesn't make those babies crying for their mothers feel any better. You ought to be ashamed of yourself. That doesn't replace the holding, nurturing love of a Mother for those babies. They're gonna grow up without a Mom's love because she chose to sacrifice herself to an organization that would take her life based on imperfect interpretation of scripture and a lie. Admittedly, that was HER choice, but our choices affect those around us, including our children and families. Our lives are all interconnected through each other, and each choice we make affects those around us. Our responsibility as loving human beings is to acknowledge and honor those whose lives we touch.
To dedicate our lives to a religion predicated on lies is a sin to the creation we are. It is irresponsible and negligent. If you can live with, and defend, knowing that people take others' lives based on lies, and be okay with that, then you are responsible for your own decision.
If you can live believing that those 6,000 posts on SilentLambs are just a lie: good for you. The Witnesses always seem to dig into the Catholic church for their movement of child-molesting priests, yet they ignore the child molesters in their midst. Do you think they are *all* lying? If even one case was covered up, it's too many.
Sure.. live and let live. LET LIVE is the key words here. They didn't let live those who needed a transplant; they didn't let live those who needed psychiatric help after a molestation, etc. If you want to defend a religion like that, then you go right ahead, but I have a feeling that you won't have a whole lot of company.
I also feel you won't feel very good about yourself.

it's weird, but always thought lyme disease was something you got from ticks and it was this minor thing that could be fixed with a pill.
i had no idea how serious and destructive this disease really is.
my sister got bit by a tick about four years ago and thought nothing of it, after all she lives in the country and has animals, and ticks were just common life issues.
Tick's mouthparts have reverse harpoon-like barbs, designed to penetrate and attach to skin. Ticks secrete a cement-like substance that helps them adhere firmly to the host. If you find that you or your pet has been bitten by a tick, it is important to remove it properly. Tick Removal Procedure:If the mouthparts break off in the skin - should I dig them out? We have heard two competing opinions about this. One viewpoint states that the mouthparts can cause a secondary infection, and should be removed as if it was a splinter. Another viewpoint was shared with us by a pediatrician in a hyperendemic area. He states that parents can do more harm by trying to hold down a child and dig out the mouthparts with a needle. He instructs his families to leave the mouthparts, and that they will come out on their own as the skin sloughs off. CAUTIONS:
- 1) Use fine-point tweezers to grasp the tick at the place of attachment, as close to the skin as possible.
- 2) Gently pull the tick straight out.
- 3) Place the tick in a small vial labeled with the victim's name, address and the date.
- 4) Wash your hands, disinfect the tweezers and bite site.
- 5) Mark your calendar with the victim's name, place of tick attachment on the body, and general health at the time.
- 6) Call your doctor to determine if treatment is warranted.
- 7) Watch the tick-bite site and your general health for signs or symptoms of a tick-borne illness. Make sure you mark any changes in your health status on your calendar.
- 8) If possible, have the tick identified/tested by a lab, your local health department, or veterinarian.
- Children should be taught to seek adult help for tick removal.
- If you must remove the tick with your fingers, use a tissue or leaf to avoid contact with infected tick fluids.
- Do not prick, crush or burn the tick as it may release infected fluids or tissue.
- Do not try to smother the tick (e.g. petroleum jelly, nail polish) as the tick has enough oxygen to complete the feeding.
have you ever seen a "ghost"?
if you did, were you scared, fascinated or straight to denial?.
if you did see one, were you a jw at the time and therefore did you believe it to be an apparition projected by the demons?
I have always thought there might be something to it since I was a child and had my first experience wherein a voice came out of the closet and said, in a raspy voice: "Freely Kettle." I still do not, to this day, know what that means.
I've always been fascinated with the possibility, and joined a paranormal investigation group about 3 years ago. I've never fully been convinced of it (paranormal energy) until just recently. I do not know how to classify these manifestations, just that they happened to me (and in one incident two other people). I don't know whether they are ghosts, demons, or just invisible balls of energy that have not transformed and are bouncing around the planet pinging things. Who knows...
About a year ago, I was grocery shopping at Wal-Mart. My husband was following me around with the cart, approximately 12 feet behind me when I headed for the dairy cases. About 6 feet in front of the dairy cases, the door opened, held itself for a second, and then closed shut Not slammed shut, but closed shut. I screamed and jumped back, crashing into my husband pushing the cart. I asked him if he saw it. He asked me what I had seen and I told him and he chuckled all the way to the checkout counter. It's all I could rave about all day.
I do know that dairy cooler doors, when the cases is entered into from the inside, burp. But this wasn't like that. It opened, stayed open for a second, and then simply swung shut, not being allowed to slam as if would have happened if it had been suddently let go of.
I called the WalMart manager (trying to think of a way to put it so I didn't seem like a fruitcake) and asked her about it. She said she would warn the dairy staff. Gaw...
More recently, a group of friends and I went to a hotel in Northern Texas for a weekend getaway. An old hotel, its known for its paranormal activity. The first time I stayed there, with my husband, nothing happened except some words appeared in the mirror when I took a bath. Besides that, nothing. It wasn't really that impressive because I steamed up the bathroom five times and it kept coming back. The exact same words. I figured someone put some Rain-X on the mirror to freak people out.
This time: an ice chest moved from one side of our room to between the beds, now *that* was freaky! Knocks on the walls; bathroom door slammed when I went in; horrible smell of stinky man feet in bed next to me, getting so bad I had to spray it down with air freshener in order to sleep, but it kept coming back; a man's LOUD scream in the middle of the night (two other rooms heard it, too); closet that was colder by 30 degrees than the rest of the room (no a/c on); stuff hidden under the bed when we came back from dinner; etc. It went on like that for two days. I was not disappointed at all! Pretty soon it started to seem "normal" if you can ever call stuff like that normal. We were very tired when we got back. Not a restful vacation at all. It was fun, though, and we are going back in March!

in human sexuality, we all have things that turn us on and things that turn us off, things that attract us and things that don't.
often people think it is all about what you see in advertising, but often it is smaller things we think less of and yet it dominates our sex drive.
for example, in a case study we did, we found that a lot of people would immediately answer things like "eyes" or "legs" and yet as we drove deeper into their answers, we found that eyes and legs were not what attracted people.
I guess I've never thought that anyone was really UGLY. Most every person has some nice physical qualities that make them attractive. Sure, there are exceptions to the rule, but most everyone has some nice physical qualities that are attractive. I have never believed that anyone was UGLY, or SCARY, and have always tried to find something nice with each person.

i read this on another post, but there are so many things wrong with this article.
beaumont - each weekend since october, danny farrow has driven about 90 miles to the golden triangle, where he lives in a trailer and feeds thousands of homemade meals to volunteers.
he could be golfing.
Helping someone rebuild a home is the best way these men and women know how to show their love right now, they said. (And to get out of going in service.)
Oh yeah: and a great way to scope out the babes!
